summer Social Recap: Our First Tournament

We did it. TR7's first ever tournament is in the books, and what a day it was.

summer Social in Richmond was everything we hoped for – great weather, good opposition, and a brilliant atmosphere. For a first outing, we couldn't have asked for more.

The nerves were real in the morning. Turning up to your first tournament as a brand new team, not really knowing what to expect – it's a strange feeling. But the moment we got on the pitch, it all clicked. This is what we've been waiting for.

Results-wise, we won some, lost some – exactly what you'd expect from a new squad still figuring each other out. But the scoreboard wasn't really the point. We played some good rugby, made a few breaks, and scored tries that actually looked like we'd practiced them.

More importantly, we met loads of great people. That's the thing about social sevens – everyone's there for the same reason. Competitive on the pitch, mates off it. We've already got a few teams saying they'll see us at Cheltenham.

The kit got a lot of love too. Turns out a massive lion on your chest gets people talking. We had a few come over just to ask about the design. The TR7 brand is officially out there.

Massive thanks to the summer Social organisers for putting on a quality event. Smooth running, good refs, and the kind of day that reminds you why you play rugby.

Next up: we're looking at a couple of June tournaments to keep the momentum going. Hamplified in July is the big one – home turf in Rugby. Can't wait.

First one done. Many more to come. Let's go.
